Hi, my name is Jennifer Jones. I am a senior at the University of New Hampshire majoring in nursing. I was born at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, ME on June 1, 1988. In high school, I participated in soccer and basketball. My favorite sport is basketball, and I loved to compete in high school. Presently, my new hobby to stay active in college is running.
I knew that I wanted to be a nurse very early in my life. Compared to my siblings, my decision on what I wanted to do with the rest of my life was relatively easy. Nursing is the right career for me. I am caring, compassionate, and have a drive to enrich the lives of other people. I know that nursing will give me an opportunity for me to make a difference in the lives of others and I couldn't think of a career that is more suitable for me.

Career Goals
Career Goals
The development of my career goals throughout the past couple of years has been an ongoing process, just as my entire philosophy of nursing is continuing to be an ongoing process. The most important goal that I currently have is to become a registered nurse. I want to practice nursing, whether it be in a hospital, a clinic, a school, or any other place that requires nursing care. In my career as a nurse, I want to make a difference in the lives of the people that I care for. I want to learn something new everyday and become a great, experienced, seasoned nurse.
My fours years of nursing school at the University of New Hampshire have almost come to an end. I hope to soon find a job that will give me opportunities to explore different aspects of nursing. Areas of nursing that I am particularly interested in include: cardiac care nursing and medical-surgical nursing.
Some of my career goals include:
-To graduate from the University of New Hampshire in 2010 with a baccalaureate degree in nursing.
-To find a rewarding job as a nurse in a friendly atmosphere.
-To explore the different aspects of nursing, and eventually specialize in a specific area.
-To always use morals and ethics to guide me in my nursing practice.
-To always learn and continue my education in the medical field
-To stay happy and true to myself.
